Tesla Model Y Standard Range and three-row configuration now available

Tesla has formally made the Model Y Standard Range available for purchase. This new, less expensive version uses a single-motor configuration and can travel an EPA-estimated 244 miles per charge. Despite being the cheapest version, the Model Y is still able to sprint to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and top out at 135 mph according to Tesla. Prices for the Model Y start at $41,990 before any state incentives are applied. Tesla vehicles are no longer eligible for a federal tax credit because the automaker has used them all up.

In addition to the Standard Range version, Tesla has added the three-row variant of the Model Y. Available in the Standard and Long-Range versions, getting the third row will cost you $3,000 more than the five-seat version. We’d probably skip that and save our money, though. Due to the Model Y’s swoopy roofline and compact dimensions by crossover standards, the third-row seats are likely very cramped. Opting for the third-row gets you USB-C charging ports back there and a sliding second-row with adjustableseat backss.
