Audi teases another new e-tron model for Auto Shanghai

Well, that was quick. Just a few days after pulling the wraps off the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron, Audi has dropped a teaser for another e-tron model that will debut at the 2021 Shanghai auto show. The sole photo is a sketch of what appears to be the front end of a battery-electric sedan.

The typical Audi design cues including the enclosed single-frame grille and an e-tron badge in the lower part of the front fascia are in full display. Flanking the grille are large openings hinting that this could be another performance-oriented model. Unlike recent Audi e-tron models, the headlights on this yet-to-be-seen model are thinner. The hood appears to be long, hinting at a cab rearward design.

Although we don’t see much and Audi didn’t say anything on the news release, we’re suspecting that this new e-tron model isn’t a crossover. It’s likely a compact sedan with a sweeping fastback roofline, meaning it’ll be another entry-level model into Audi’s all-electric vehicle lineup. This vehicle could also be smaller, slotting below the larger, more powerful e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. If that’s the case, this new compact-sized e-tron will likely share the same powertrain with the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron.
