Electrify America integrates real time charger data into Google Maps

Electrify America is integrating its real-time charger data into Google Maps, giving EV drivers up-to-the-minute information on stations across its network within the familiar Maps interface. The listings will now display live charger availability, connector type, charging speed, and operational status, building on Google’s existing real-time availability feature to help drivers plan routes more efficiently.

“EV adoption is accelerating, and with it comes the expectation of a seamless charging experience, said Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America. “By integrating real-time charging station data, we’re not just improving access, we’re empowering drivers with the confidence to go electric, knowing the information is right at their fingertips.”

Electrify America positions the collaboration as a direct response to one of the most persistent pain points for EV owners: getting reliable, current charger status before arriving on site. By surfacing network data inside Google Maps, the integration aims to reduce guesswork, shorten detours, and streamline public charging for daily commutes and long trips alike. As EV adoption grows, the company frames the move as a meaningful step toward a more seamless charging experience.
