Polestar 3 sets EV SUV range record on single charge

Polestar says its 3 SUV set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric SUV on a single charge, covering 581.3 miles (935.44 km). The run used a production-spec Polestar 3 Long range Single motor and took 22 hours, 57 minutes in mixed weather. Professional efficiency drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker rotated every three hours. According to Polestar, the car averaged 19.5 kWh/100 miles (12.1 kWh/100 km), matched its 438-mile (706-km) WLTP figure with roughly 20 percent battery remaining, then continued another 8 miles (12.8 km) after the display showed zero percent before reaching a charger and stopping.

Guinness World Records judge Paulina Sapinska confirmed the attempt. Webfleet provided independently verified GPS traces, odometer readings, battery-level logs, and continuous video. The vehicle ran unmodified on standard 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 EV tires, and the AA supported the effort. “We are very proud to say we have a world record holder in the Polestar family,” said CEO Michael Lohscheller. “This official Guinness World Record for range is another proof point that Polestar 3 is setting new standards.”
