Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sets new sedan lap record at Road Atlanta

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has set a new sedan lap record at Road Atlanta, completing the 2.54-mile circuit in 1 minute 30.98 seconds. This bested the previous generation’s Panamera Turbo S time of 1 minute 31.51 seconds and underscores Porsche’s success in blending high performance with electrified powertrains.

At the heart of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is a twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric drive system that together produce 771 horsepower. Carbon ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires deliver exceptional stopping power and cornering grip. The model’s Active Ride system—an active hydraulic suspension—constantly adjusts body motion to maintain optimal tire contact, ensuring stability and responsiveness throughout the lap.

Patrick Long, Porsche pro-driver and brand ambassador, praised the seamless integration of regenerative braking and electric boost. “The new generation Panamera is so much more seamless in the regen and boost transition, it makes it very easy to get right up to the edge,” he said. He added that the ability to recover energy under braking while improving stopping performance is “such a positive attribute” both on and off the track.

The record run joined the Taycan Turbo GT’s production EV lap record, achieved on May 28, 2025, under mixed weather conditions that included morning rain and a drying track. Despite winds of 3–5 mph and patchy damp spots, the Panamera’s performance components and hybrid power delivery excelled.

With its combination of combustion and electric power, cutting-edge suspension technology and track-focused components, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid demonstrates Porsche’s ability to deliver sports car dynamics and efficiency in a luxury sedan package.
