Toyota teases its next EV, debuting in March

Toyota has released a brief teaser video for its upcoming EV, scheduled to debut on March 12, 2025. Based on what we know, it’s highly likely that this is the production version of the bZ Compact SUV Concept that we experienced up close and personal at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. It was the North American debut of the concept, and the overall silhouette of the mysterious vehicle in the teaser matches up with what we’ve already seen. We expect it to be called the bZ3X model, falling under Toyota’s Beyond Zero moniker. The Japanese automaker plans to launch five BEVs under that nameplate.

Those who have followed Toyota’s latest models, specifically the Prius and Camry, will find the front face familiar. It’s still unclear what will power the production version and whether it will even be available in the North American market.

The Toyota bZ4X was the brand’s first EV to wear the bZ nameplate, and we had mixed feelings about it. Hopefully, Toyota has managed to improve with the upcoming bZ3X, which is expected to be followed by the bZ5X eventually.
